So I thought I would share with you one of the gifts I made for my niece for her graduation gift. I made her this cover-up. I am not sure what the bathroom situation is yet, but some colleges have to walk through the halls to get to the bathroom.

I seen this on Sewing with Nancy, and decided to try it. I will be doing the next one different. But, since I waited to the last minute to make this I didn't have time to change it. I still think it turned out pretty decent.

I have been interested in Penny Rugs for quite some time now, and have not had a chance to make one yet. But, right now you can pick up a whole kit from Nancy's Notions for under $10 each. Go check them out they would also make wondeful gifts finished or unfinished.
This is my favorite one.

I found some great deals on fabric @ Wal-Mart. The purple was a remnant so it was 20% off and the others were clearance fins. Don't worry I am not planning on using them together! They look really bad all together.
I was actually the mostly excited about the white & black fabric because this weekend I found some great patterns at a garage sale for .25ea. I am planning on doing this pattern with the white & black material. It is a poly-blend so I think it should work well.

The other fabrics will be used on aprons or quilt blocks.

I found this great neat recipe for Cupcake Bites/Pops @ Bakerella. After I found it I just needed a reason to make them. Morgan came home after her Bible study last Monday at told me she had to bring snacks. Well, I was so excited, I am not sure she was, but I was, because that meant now I had a reason to try my hand at these neat little cupcakes.
I did not use chocolate bark, instead I used chocolate, because I had plenty of it. Unfortunately this did not work so well, next time for sure I will try the bark. I think the chocolate doesn't set up as well as teh bark would have. Also, my cake was very moist and I think it posed a problem in the long run.
However, this was my first attempt at them and I usually learn from my mistakes. I also have an idea to use buckeye filling (peanut butter & powdered sugar) in them next time.
These were the best of the bunch. The others turned out not so pretty, perfectly edible but not pretty!
Hopefully the next batch will be much improved!

If you know me then you know I LOVE FREE! I also love to do about any kind of sewing and crafting as well. So if I combine the two it is just that much better.

I have been on the lookout for free vintage labels or images for a few months now. I actually came across this website on a Freebie site that I just found thanks to my Mom.

So this past Thursday I was reading a blog that I have not read in quite some time, and she was participating in a "Whatcha Working On Wednesday". Which in turn lead me to another blog "My Country Home" by Leslie, On Wednesday she puts a Mr. Linky up for everyone to post what they have been working on.
She has some wonderful hand-stitched items that I really like a lot, so as I read past post and I came across one pertaining to B.O.M. which stands for "Block Of the Month", as in Quilt Blocks. This peaked my ears even more, because I would love to make a quilt. So I continued to read and saw the pictures of her blocks. I wanted to make some too, so I did! Here they are. I used fabric I had tea dyed years ago, that is why it looks stained. LOL! It is suppose to make it look vintage, my husband just thought it was dirty...lol!



If you would like to join in making these wonderful blocks go to gail pan designs and print the last two months off and get started. They took me about 2-3 hours each, which I considered very quick.
I have also started two other blocks found at Willowberry Designs. I started the Willow tree tonight and will finish it tomorrow then I will do the other one. Then I will be caught up and be waiting patiently for next months blocks!
